Worst experience ever

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This company booked me for two jobs in April and May. It is not August 28 and I should have been paid $800. They have not paid me a single cent. They also don't answer their phones, call me back, or any of my emails. I have had the worst headache over this company and I cannot believe I didn't just get paid by my actual employer. This is ridiculous. I should be paid $800 for my time and my efforts and my modeling. Loss : $800 and my time This agency is complete and utter *** Don't ever book a job with them again! I cannot believe I was taken advantage of like this and received such a great haircut and color. and I had such a wonderful experience at the hair shows but now they just got free modeling and so much free photography and film and I get nothing. This is NOT FAIR. LIZA SOPHIE MARTINA AND HAIR MODEL EXPRESS AS A WHOLE IS A TOTAL AND COMPLETE SCAM! DON'T BOOK THROUGH THEM!

THEY WONT PAY YOU

BWEARE! SCAMMERS! they are scammers! just like everyone before me said. I wish I had seen these reviews before working with them. I did an event 4 months ago, after which I received 1 reply with a "case number" as a reference for future communications. Unsurprisingly, every single attempt to reach out has been COMPLETELY IGNORED. Every email and phone call I had made to them has been ignored. I tried emailing Sophie, Martina and Liza herself. just don't do it. sign up with MegaFlash Models instead, which is ran by Liza Lipton's ex husband who actually runs the company properly and I was paid by them for every show I did in 2 weeks or less. I will be filing a court claim and will get my money back one way or another.

Hair Model Express Does not Pay!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My friend and I worked several times with them and have NOT been paid. Everyone, FILE A COMPLAINT with the FREELANCE ISNT FREE ACT . If you are in NYC this is a local law that protects freelancers from not being paid. They do not answer emails or texts or calls. File a legal complaint, that is what I’m doing and work with either MegaFlash or Wolff because they actually pay you. I have given them more than enough time to resolve their issues or at least respond to me. Each time I work a job it’s a battle to get my paycheck. I’ve been calling the office everyday and no one responds. Seriously save yourself the grief and find another agency. They started out fine 6 years ago when I first started with them but progressively have gotten worse and the money started coming later and later and now not at all.

Bernie Madoff of Hair modeling *Liza Lipton,-scam artist**

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The Bernie Madoff of Hair Modeling. This "agency" is a SCAM. They make you sign papers claiming you can't contact the client if you don't receive payment after 90 days—meanwhile they're cashing the check the client gave to the models for themselves. Emails? Phone calls? —all unanswered-how convenient you FRAUDSTERS! Still haven't been paid 6 MONTHS after working an event. They put some big names on their website, and social media to make themselves look credible, but BEWARE THEY WON'T PAY YOU!!! Do yourself a favor and work with legitimate agencies NOT HAIRMODEL EXPRESS so you won't have to hire a lawyer to get unpaid invoices. You guys are the epitome of UNETHICAL SCUM—a bunch of thieves with no principles. Shame on you Liza Lipton, Martina Andre and company.

Non Payment

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This is very much the norm with HME. I made sure all paper work was right through PopBookings even had PopBookings check information myself. They replied all things looked great after HME said they couldn't see my w-9. Have contacted them many times with no response via email since and have yet to be paid for my job. They can not say this is the client as I know 3 other ladies that worked direct with the client. Thet were paid within two weeks post show. I have been in the industry for 8 yrs never having an issue of payment until now. This is a VERY accurate posting about HME. I have kept all emails sent to the correct email. I have screen shot all messages sent via PopBookings. Now I have to go when further for payment.

HME is a legitimate agency that has served me well in the past. But, recently, I have gotten very poor response and turn around time from them. I usually don't run into trouble with these things and don't like to write online reviews, but I just don't know what is going on and would like to be noticed.

I'm in the same boat. Have been with HME for years and never had a problem until now.

Going on nearly 5 months since my last gig and still haven't been paid, and no one is responding to my emails. What the heck is going on?!

I'm really saddened and disappointed that this is happening. I hope they step up and do the right thing.

Hair Model Express is a Scam

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Hair Model Express does not pay its models. I worked for them at the San Jose Style Show in 2017. I never got paid. They claim that they reached out to me to send out a payment. But, they never reached out to me. Liza is a liar without a conscious. Now, they claim that it's too late to pay me. This is bogus. I've gotten payments from many reputable agencies months after work performed. But, the key is that those agencies were reputable. Hair Model Express is not. Read the other reviews. Hair Model Express is a joke. Do not work for Hair Model Express.

BEWARE!! - DO NOT WORK FOR HAIR MODEL EXPRESS!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This company is awful and does not pay you for work completed. The owner Liza Lipton is very dishonest and rude. She was curt with her responses and told me for MONTHS that "the check in the mail" and now 5 months later I still have not been paid. Now Liza does not respond to texts and her phone goes straight to voicemail. She was even contacted by the company that hired her (Oribe) to ask her why she hadn't paid me or any of the other models she had booked for the job. I have never been treated so poorly by an employer. Unless you like to work for free, do not work for Hair Model Express!

Disappointing..

Several months and still not paid. Participated in Premiere Orlando in June 2017 and been waiting five months now. 90 day maximum wait as stipulated in contract....so disappointed. Not to mention the countless emails I have sent trying to get through to whoever in the world is responsible for these late payments which seem to be happening a lottttt with other models representing this agency

Still haven't been paid

It's been several months since I worked a job and still haven't been paid. Liza is very dishonest. I would not work with this agency when there are several other agencies out there who pay promptly. First and last time I'll ever work with these dishonest folks. Uggh. Additionally, communication is horrible and it takes a long time to receive a reply from Hair Model Express. Forget trying to reach anybody on the phone. It always goes to voicemail. I booked a job a few months later with a competitor and they paid me in 20 days. It's clear this company does not value their models. Sincerely, Pissed Off Model

I have the same sentiments, and I've always been prompt with sending them my vouchers, tax forms, and communicating when and how I book each job. I didn't have issues like this with HME since 2017. I don't understand what's going on, but I will get to the bottom of it.

I signed up for HME last year and have yet to be chosen to work any exhibitions etc. However that is not my main issue with HME. When applying for castings I make sure I meet all credentials and requirements and then submit my information for casting. However I would never hear or receive a response back to let me know whether or not I've made the casting. Knowing that I work outside of modeling and I also do not live where most of the castings are held, this requires me to *** from work and start getting my traveling expenses together. If I have NOT been selected for any particular casting I would never know. Why? Because HME does not send an email or notification to say I have not been invited to the casting. But they stated that they do inform models who have been invited and chosen to attend a casting(s) and who have been dismissed. For the many castings that I've applied for. I've never received anything stating I've been dismissed. I've went to the extent of actually contacting the company(clients) who are holding the castings. Only to find out models were chosen already. How would I know this if I've never received any further info stating I've been dismissed from the casting. It is an inconvenience to wait on something knowing I've made arrangements so there won't be any chaos if I am chosen for whatever casting I've applied for. But because I receive nothing, not only am I missing out on work but I could be doing something else to better my career as a model. I've reached out to Liza who represents HME multiple times on this matter and I will receive an email , however my concerns are never cleared up or I'll never receive a response at all. But surely will see that my messages have been "READ", if I write her on FB. To me this is unprofessional and very discouraging. Especially knowing that I am only trying to follow my dreams and make it as a hair model.

I have not been paid by Hair Model Express 80 days after my event. I have been promised that payment is 'IN THE MAIL' on several occasions.

Do not work for this company. They do not pay you.

This is Liza and I know who wrote this. It's a shame that you are courageous enough to make such a negative public statement about me personally, but then such a coward by not revealing your name, but I understand that if you did, you most likely would face legal action.

We will compete against each other in the beauty industry in the future, and perhaps that doesn't sit well with you. I do not humiliate you, or any of my employees, which is absolutely ridiculous, or HME would not have the success we had. If you are referencing our successful funny agent blog, which is meant in good spirit of funny things that occur at our agency, then perhaps humor hasn't entered your life just yet. All models are always paid.

Sometimes people go their separate ways and have work differences. I understand that animosity, or bitterness can sometimes prompt them to say and do things to hurt the other person.

I still wish you all the best in the future, and have no need to say anything negative about you or to you.

My team and I will continue to work hard and ensure the satisfaction of our clients and models.

Whomever wants to work with us will, and who does not will not, regardless of your efforts to defame me.

Take Care

Liza

I worked an event as a hair model the beginning of March, 90 days ago as of yesterday.. And my payment went out TODAY, only because I threatened them. It says in the contract that it takes 30-90 days to receive payment... It's supposedly supposed to be in my mailbox May 29th, which is 99 days, not 90. Had I NOT threatened them via email about my payment whereabouts, I would have waited even longer. Never will I EVER work for them again. No company should lie and say that they are going to pay their models 30-90 days if it's a lie

Hi Lashay Baylis,

It has come to our attention that you posted a review with inaccurate information on pissedconsumer.com.

You claimed to not want to work with HME, yet you had worked with us several times after this post.

We matched your IP address to previous received emails from you.

You did not lose any monetary compensation of $100.00 as claimed. You agreed to a one-time Finder's fee, and were charged no fees after that, thus your complaint is frivolous.

Your First Payment was delayed due to an address change, and the check had to be reissued. After that you worked for HME at No fee twice again!

See your record history below: AXX201301 $500.00 FF $100.00 $400.00 paid 5/21/2013 stop payment/wrong address:3BP9FDTR Reiisued to correct address 6/11/2013 AXX201305 $250 paid 6/26/2013 CD201302 $ 630.00 paid $ 620 (check) paid 01/31/2014

I worked with All Around and some guy named David Venafro ( owner)yelled at me on the phone. Thanks, but no thanks.

Then I found out that he had a temper, was arrested and his mug shot was all over the internet.

I went back to Hair Model Express. They had a management change, and I had no issues after that:)I was paid in 30 days fyi.

Guest

Yup! Mine has been over 120 days....and they are blaming it on the hair product company.

I told them it does not matter if they haven't been paid, not our deal, not in our contract. Then they took 20% out for finders fee! Such ***!

We should start a class action suit. I know other models who have experienced the same thing!

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-797090

I agree! Same here!

Guest

You should try All Around Talent. They have been around longer than HME and you can call them anytime.

Guest

I had the exact same experience.. Not happy.

I completed a job in Chicago in March. They said in their contract it takes 60-90 days to pay. I've sent several emails and made many phone calls with no answer. And what kills me the most - no apologies and poor communication.

For me it's been 115 days now. At 100 days (10 days PAST the max amount of time to pay) they sent me an email saying that my payment would arrive in my account in 6 business days and not to contact them again until after this time had passed (yes, straight up rude). It's now been 2 weeks since that email and no payment from Hair Model Express.

Today I sent them an email to letting them know I'll be filing a claim for breach of contract... I'll get paid one way or the other

Please note that payments are scheduled 60-90 days post show by HME.

There are several factors that can play a role in payment delays, such as incorrect addresses for check payments, no provision of W9-forms, or client non-payment. All models who work for HME are ALWAYS paid, if we receive payment from the client that models work with.

However, our contracts do provide that, we are not responsible for client late payment, or non-payment. If clients do not pay after 90 days, we release client information for models to obtain their funds directly from the client. If models have not received payment that means HME has not received payment, unless payment is delayed for the factors stated above. Unfortunately, many models do not read the terms and agreements on our website in its entirety.

We are not an advancement lending institution. We solely provide casting information. Client late payment will delay payment from HME, and unfortunately that can sometimes happen, and is out of our hands, thus we have this clause in our sign up agreements.

All inquiries are answered via email, as HME is an online company with several employees throughout the US. Phone calls will be answered, or messages will be responded to via email.

We apologize for any payment delays in this incident, as this is not the norm with over 22,000 satisfied customers, who continue to model for us.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-794164

You all are the ones screwing up! I still haven't received payment and it is well over 120 days.

This company has bad business practices and needs to be sued. And this does seeem to be the norm!

Did not pay my salary

I was modeling for hair model express in NYC in march. Money was supposed to be paid in 60-90 days. I started writing them in may and a month passed, I still didn't get anything while they persuade me they sent direct deposit already. As a confirmation they sent me statement with somebody else's account number. They hardly pick up the phone, telling you have email them. To get email from them you have to wait 3 days. I hope finally I will get my money but at least I know that I will never work again with Hair Model Express.
